Our History
1953
Zurchers Merchandise is born. Clarence Zurcher opened Zurchers Merchandise as a wholesale toy company in Boise, Idaho. Clarence and his son Robert (Bob) Zurcher sold toys to grocery and convenience stores throughout Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada.
1983
The first Zurchers retail store opens. Bob Zurcher converted part of the Zurchers Merchandise warehouse in Boise, Idaho into the very first Zurchers party, costume, and wedding supply store — and a local institution was born.
Growth Years
Expansion across Utah and Idaho. Over the following decades, Zurchers grew steadily, opening stores throughout Utah and Idaho. The wholesale division was eventually sold so the family could focus entirely on the retail stores they loved.
Today
Still family-owned, still growing. Bob’s three sons own and operate all Zurchers party, costume, and wedding stores. With 19 locations across Utah, Idaho, Texas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas — and a full online store — Zurchers continues to bring the party to communities across the country.
